FSMAC-SSM BATCH-7 BLS TRAINING INITIATED BY SOMALI DOCTORS ASSOCIATION AND SOSEM
The Somali Doctors Association, in partnership with the Somali Society for Emergency Medicine (SOSEM), has launched an important two-day training program in Basic Life Support (BLS) aimed at enhancing emergency response skills across the country. The first session took place at the Somali Doctors Association’s training center in Mogadishu.
This initiative is part of an ongoing effort to strengthen healthcare delivery and emergency medical services in Somalia. The BLS training is structured to take place twice a week, on Thursdays and Mondays, with a new group of participants trained each week.
“We are committed to building a stronger emergency care workforce in Somalia,” said a representative from SOSEM. “This training will empower healthcare professionals and community members with the life-saving skills needed during critical situations.”
The training program is designed to equip participants with the fundamental knowledge and practical skills required to recognize life-threatening emergencies, provide high-quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and effectively manage situations before professional medical help arrives.
Both SOSEM and the Somali Doctors Association emphasize the importance of continuous learning and preparation for handling medical emergencies.
